PostHeaderIcon Weekly Linkbuilding Roundup Posts

We all know how important linkbuilding is to branding your business and defining your SEO. As Google continues to update its algorithm regularly, the linkbuilding practices you use must evolve with it. I can’t tell you how many dinosaur affiliates got wiped out when Panda came along.

Fortunately, there are plenty of great bloggers who have found awesome ways to keep building quality links even after Google’s most recent update.

Here are some great posts I suggest you take a look at to see what kind of linkbuilding strategies you may want to adopt as you try to reconfigure your SEO strategy in light of these new changes.

5 Local LinkBuilding Ideas For the Post-Penguin/Panda Era

This Search Engine Land post was really thinking outside the box on a complex SEO issue. The author, Andrew Shotland, said that you can try to work with the people in your community to build links to improve your SEO rankings. Shotland suggests doing something good for your community or doing something that the people in your community are going to pay attention to. This could include sponsoring a local youth organization, doing some community service or running a local contest. He even said that you could create a video that your local community would want to endorse.

7 Important Principles of Link Building

In this post, Ritesh Warke listed seven key elements of a successful linkbuilding practice. Warke said that you will need to focus on creating a linkbuilding practice that emphasizes quality over quantity. He claims that many sites are created solely for the purpose of creating SEO backlinks (he’s right btw). Quality can be determined by pagerank, traffic and social media traction. He also says you need to maintain relevancy in your posts. Finally, he gives some perspective on how frequently you should build your links. I won’t give away all his secrets, so I suggest you check out this post.

What Tim Tebow Can Teach You About Linkbuilding

This was another informative post from Search Engine Land. In this post, Erin Everhart said that the essence of linkbuilding should always be about relationships. I have never heard it quite put that way before, but Erin is really dead on here. You are going to need quality links to improve you SEO rankings. You get more quality links by focusing on building relationships first and links second. Erin also says that you can’t always control how somebody else works and helps you build content, but that you can at least focus on creating awesome content every day that you work.

These posts were highly informative and I think you will benefit from them. Since Google decided to change its algorithm again, you are going to need a new linkbuilding strategy as you prepare to implement your SEO campaign. These resources struck me as a great starting point and I encourage you to see what they have to offer.

PostHeaderIcon Two Cool New Resources to Help You Be an Internet Rockstar!

As I tole my subscribers a couple of weeks ago, there are a couple of big changes coming in at Online Rookies. One of the big changes we are making is that we are going to be working closely with other marketers who can share their perspective on what makes their Internet marketing strategies so awesome! Up until now Sarah and I have mostly shared our perspectives on what types of strategies we’ve used ourselves. However, other marketers clearly have talents that we have not explored.

One of the first marketers I am going to introduce you to is my friend Joachim Larsen. Joachim is a blogger from Norway who has some really awesome tips that he is going to be sharing on a new site he is launching.

I first connected with Joachim on the Warrior Forum when he was asking for others to review his site Internet Rockstars VIP. I had no idea what to expect when I checked out Joachim’s site, but figured I’d look it over and give him my perspective.

I have been very impressed with Joachim’s site thus far. Joachim humbly made it clear that he himself was not fully established in the Internet marketing business. However, he was persistent and chose to reach out to many other great Internet marketers, whom have helped contribute some great resources to his site.

Joachim is going to charge other Internet marketers $97 a month to join his site for 7 months. This is a big investment, but I think people can definitely stand to benefit from it. What do you get in return? Well, Joachim is also going to provide three resources each month. He is providing $227 worth of free bonuses. He is offering software, videos and posts with tips from some of the leading experts. He is even sharing a few strategies that have really worked for him. One of these include a method he used to build his subscriber list by 150 members in 4 days.

I am also in the process of working with Michelle Welch of New Biz Blogger. Michelle is a seasoned Internet entrepreneur who is about to launch a community as well. Michelle’s community is called Online Business Head Start. I have already received a ton of great info from her site. I am going to be updating my visitors on her progress and some tidbits she wants to share very shortly!

A lot of great stuff happening here so stay tuned!
